Wedding in Kutaisi

The history of Kutaisi dates back over 3,500 years, making it the oldest city in Georgia. Today it is a small, peaceful, and cozy town that offers a sense of tranquility and relaxation. The historic center is compact and beautiful, while the surrounding areas are home to Georgia's famous attractions and sources of pride: bubbling waterfalls, mysterious caves, and majestic canyons.

Kutaisi has another unique feature for tourists. It is the only city in Georgia served by the low-cost airline Wizzair. If you are looking for the most budget-friendly way to get married in Georgia, a wedding in Kutaisi is the perfect choice. There are no long queues like in nearby Batumi, plenty of free accommodation options and no traffic jams.

The city's central location makes it ideal for sightseeing tours around Georgia. Heading west takes you to the Black Sea coast, the northern route leads to Svaneti, the southern road introduces you to Vardzia and the mountain resorts of Bakhmaro and Goderdzi, while to the east, you'll find Tbilisi, Kakheti, and Gudauri.

You only need one day to complete the marriage registration in Kutaisi. So, if you’re planning a trip around Georgia, you won’t have to waste time waiting for documents. Set off on your journey, and we’ll take care of the apostille and translation of your marriage certificate. You can pick them up on your return trip.

You can get married in Kutaisi at the public hall of the House of Justice or at one of the Wedding Palaces. There are two of them: one in the city and another in the nearby suburb of Tskaltubo.

Ways to reach Kutaisi

● Airplane
The airplane is the best way to reach the city if there is a direct flight connection between the countries. Kutaisi is served by the low-cost airline Wizzair (with over 20 destinations). So in total cost, it is the cheapest location for marriage in Georgia. Belavia, Pegasus, and Air Astana also operate flights to this airport.
● Train from Tbilisi
If you first arrive in Tbilisi, a train is the best option to reach Kutaisi. The train routes pass through picturesque landscapes, and the 3.5-4 hours journey will fly by unnoticed. We recommend choosing tickets for the comfortable double-decker trains. The difference in price compared to cheaper trains is justified by the cleanliness of the carriages, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. Tickets can be purchased here.
Bus from Tbilisi Another way to travel from Tbilisi to Kutaisi is by comfortable buses that depart from the airport every half hour to an hour. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the airport ticket counter upon arrival. The approximate travel time is 4-4.5 hours, but traffic conditions (traffic jams, landslides, accidents) may significantly increase travel time, which should be taken into account when planning your trip.
